B&B Congress Chronicles Day Eight: Callie and Crush Take Eighth out of 145
Thursday, October 1, 2026 | Columbus, Ohio
One hundred forty-five entries. Eighth place. Another top-ten Congress finish for Callie and Crush.
Callison “Callie” Messenger and Leavin A Legaci marked a 209.5 to finish eighth out of 145 entries in NRHA Rookie Level 2 at the 2026 All American Quarter Horse Congress. Joanna Walz and Voodoo For Cash, our Wayne-O, also posted a solid 205 in the same class.
We're proud to send two partnerships through the gate together, wearing the B&B name.
Callie and Crush Back It Up
Coming off their fifth-place finish in Youth Reining, Callie and Crush came back and earned another spot in the Congress top ten. Back-to-back results like that deserve some recognition. In a class of 145 entries, eighth is a finish you earn.
Every time you walk through that gate, you have to put another run together. Yesterday’s score stays on yesterday’s sheet. Callie and Crush came back with a 209.5 and gave our team another reason to cheer.
Crush has had a strong Congress with both of his riders. His seventh-place Limited Open finish with Britney earlier in the show, followed by Callie’s fifth and now eighth, says plenty about the week this horse has given us. We ask a lot of our horses. When they give us performances like these, they deserve their share of the credit.
Callie, we are proud of you. Two Congress top tens with Crush is an accomplishment you will carry home.
Joanna and Wayne Put Up a 205
Joanna and Wayne added a solid 205 in Rookie Level 2 after earning eighth with a 212.5 in Green Reiner Level 2 earlier in the week.
We have watched Joanna put the work into this partnership. Having the opportunity to coach her and Wayne through these Congress runs means a great deal to us. There is satisfaction in seeing that work produce a top-ten finish, and there is value in every chance to go back in and compete together.
Joanna, we are proud of the week you and Wayne are putting together. You have given your cheering section plenty to get behind.
What We See in This Show Team
Eight days into our Congress chapter, we have a lot to be proud of across this barn.
Lisa and GQ have earned top-ten finishes in ranch riding. JoAnn and Kenny put a 206 on the board in Novice Horse Non Pro. Mila took on her first Congress with two horses and came back with stronger rides. Pimp has a futurity performance behind him and more work ahead as he develops.
Add Joanna and Wayne’s Green Reiner finish and the week Callie, Britney, and Crush have put together, and there is real substance behind this team’s results.
From our side of the gate, the job is to be proud and keep coaching. Recognize what went well. Be honest about what needs work. Give each horse and rider a clear next step.
That takes some grit. You have to be willing to work on the same thing again, take instruction, and stay patient with your horse while holding yourself accountable. A good placing is worth celebrating. Then you get back to doing the work that made it possible.
Our riders have different goals, different horses, and different experience levels. We expect effort, respect for the horse, and support for the people riding alongside them. That is what representing B&B means to us.
To our clients, families, and the crew keeping this team moving in Columbus, thank you. We know how much goes into getting a horse and rider to the gate. We are proud to be here with this group.
Congratulations, Callie and Crush, and Joanna and Wayne. Good horses. Hard-earned results. More work ahead.
