B&B Congress Chronicles Day Five: JoAnn and Kenny’s 206, and Mila’s First Rides

B&B Congress Chronicles Day Five continues with JoAnn Johnson and Gambler Joe putting a 206 on the board, and Mila riding into her first Congress with JoJo and Slyder. Day five at the 2026 All American Quarter Horse Congress in Columbus, Ohio, brought a strong score to celebrate and an opportunity for one of our young riders to close out her season on a big stage.
JoAnn and Kenny: A Congress Run to Celebrate
JoAnn Johnson of Brimfield, Illinois, and her horse Gambler Joe, known around the barn as Kenny, marked a 206 in NRHA Novice Horse Non Pro.
A 206 at Congress is something to be proud of. This show brings a different setting and plenty to take in. Once you enter the pen, the job is to stay connected to your horse and ride the pattern one maneuver at a time.
For those following along who are newer to reining, Novice Horse eligibility is based on the horse’s NRHA earnings. The levels give eligible horses opportunities to compete within defined earnings limits.
Congratulations, JoAnn and Kenny. We are proud to have you representing B&B in Columbus.

Mila Dishman's First Congress: Two Horses, One Special Short Stirrup Season Finale.
Your first Congress is a milestone. Experiencing it with two great horses is something to appreciate. Mila Dishman marked two great scores on JoJo and Slyder in NRHA Short Stirrup, the division for riders ages 10 and under.
Taking those partnerships to Congress adds a special chapter to their season. For a young rider, a show like Congress offers an education that reaches beyond the pattern. They can watch experienced horsemen, see different horses work, and learn what it takes to compete in a setting this size.
Riding two horses adds another layer: learning to recognize and respond to the horse underneath you is part of becoming a horsewoman.
This was a valuable learning experience for Mila and a meaningful way to close out her show season. We are proud of her, grateful for JoJo and Slyder, and excited to see what she carries forward from her first Congress.
Mila, what a way to finish your 2026 Short Stirrup season. Your first Congress, two great horses, and plenty to build on!
Good Rides on Great Horses.
Kenny, JoJo, and Slyder deserve their share of the credit today. Good horses give riders opportunities to compete, learn, and build partnerships that matter well beyond one show. We want our riders to keep setting goals and recognize what each horse is teaching them along the way.
Keep following the B&B Congress Chronicles for more from our team at the 2026 All American Quarter Horse Congress.
