Black Hawk College Graduate Completes Summer Internship at B&B Reinebach
PRINCEVILLE, Ill. (July 29, 2026) What began as the next step after college graduation quickly became a summer of learning, growth, and hands-on experience for Kiersten Yoder.
Yoder, a Goshen, Indiana native who graduated from the Black Hawk College Equine Program in May, recently completed a summer internship at B&B Reinebach, a performance horse training and lesson program based in Princeville.
During the internship, Yoder worked alongside trainers and Black Hawk College alums, Brock and Britney Reinebach, Class of 2004, gaining experience in the day-to-day operation of a professional performance horse program. Her responsibilities included horse care, barn management, lesson preparation, assisting riders, traveling to horse shows, and supporting clients throughout the competition season.
“Internships are where education and experience come together,” Brock Reinebach said. “Kiersten came in ready to learn, worked hard every day, and became an important part of our team. We enjoyed watching her confidence grow throughout the summer.”
B&B Reinebach offers professional performance horse training, riding lessons, and coaching for youth and nonprofessional competitors. The program travels to competitions throughout the Midwest, allowing students and interns to experience every aspect of preparing horses and riders for the show pen.
For Yoder, the internship gave her a chance to apply classroom knowledge while building practical skills learned only through daily work in a professional training environment.
Britney Reinebach said mentoring young professionals is central to the program’s mission.
“We believe it’s important to invest in the future of the equine industry,” she said. “Watching someone take what they’ve learned in college and continue building those skills in a working barn is rewarding. Kiersten’s positive attitude and willingness to jump in wherever she was needed made a real difference.”
In addition to working at the Princeville facility, Yoder traveled with the B&B Reinebach show team, assisting riders and horses during competitions while learning what it takes to operate a successful reining program away from home.
The internship exposed her to every facet of the business, from caring for horses and preparing equipment to supporting clients and helping ensure horses and riders were ready to compete.
As the summer concludes, the B&B Reinebach team congratulates Yoder on completing both her college education and internship and wishes her continued success as she begins her career in the equine industry.
